THE POWER OF SMALL HABITS

Hello Lovelies, how are we all doing? This post was supposed to go up three weeks ago, I don’t even know what happened with my schedule. Anyway, a weekend chat with a friend got me thinking. She recently started working out and saw amazing changes in her body and mind. We had a good laugh about how close she was to quitting, but what really stuck with me was how something as simple as an exercise can totally flip your life around. That conversation sparked this post about power of small habits.

What small habits have you stuck with that has made a huge change in your life?

Now, let’s look at underrated habits and their benefits.

1. Taking care of your body (Exercise)

Improved overall health: Exercising helps with overall health and well-being, reducing the risk of premature mortality.

Sleep quality: Regular physical activity can help improve sleep quality, leading to better rest and muscle recovery.

Reduces Stress: Exercise has been shown to reduce stress hormones, promoting a sense of calm and well-being.

Heart Health: It helps improve circulation and reduces the risk of heart disease.

Stronger Muscles: Exercise helps build muscle mass and strength.

Weight Management: Regular exercise can help reduce the risk of obesity-related health problems.

2. Taking care of your health

Eating a healthy diet provides numerous benefits for overall well-being. You are what you eat, basically interprets to your diet playing a huge role in your health. A balanced diet rich in fruits (an apple a day keeps the doctor away), vegetables, whole grains, lean protein sources, and healthy fats can positively impact your body. They help with better digestion, a stronger immune system, better skin and hair, and an improved quality of life.

3. Taking care of your finances

Budgeting: There's a plan I saw online about finance planning it explains the 50, 30, 20 rule. Basically 50% of your income should go towards necessities, 30% towards discretionary spending, and 20% towards savings.

Monitor your expenses: Always track your spending habits and avoid impulse buys, and think before you make a purchase.

Review and adjust: Regularly audit your finances.

5. Taking care of your style

Your style speaks volume about your identity and boundaries. Your appearance can convey a lot about your personality and values. Investing in your style and dressing intentionally can send subtle signals about who you are, what you stand for, and what you are willing to accept.

In other words, your appearance introduces you as a person even before you speak. Sometimes, it's not even about your style, but how you speak and how well you carry yourself.

Tips:

Wear clothes that make you feel confident.

Use your style to express your individuality.

    1. True, once healthy habits become a normal part of your routine, they really don't "cost" you anything, but the benefits they return are absolutely invaluable. It's all about making that initial investment in yourself.

  14. ...I would change the 50, 30, 20 rule to 50% of your income should go towards necessities, 30% towards savings and 20% towards discretionary spending. It will pay off when you want to retire.

    1. That's a really interesting take on the 50/30/20 rule! Shifting more towards savings (30%) and a bit less on discretionary spending (20%) definitely sounds like a smart move for long-term financial health and retirement planning. It's all about finding what works best for your personal goals!

  15. Hello, Benita!
Firstly, thank you for visiting my blog :-)

I completely agree on your post: "we are what we eat", you're right. Our meals have to be well balanced. I think it would be good for our body to get protein mainly from vegetables and fishes 🐟 (not farmed fishes).
With regards to the common saying "an apple a day keeps the doctor away", obviously there isn't any evidence that if we did so, we wouldn't need a doctor 🙂🍎🍏💊💉 ... I don't like to eat red meat and processed food.

Interesting advice about capsule guardrobe, as it could be useful to build our personal style.
How we introduce ourself in terms of dressing is as important as how well we carry ourself.

    Great post!

    1. What a thoughtful comment! I completely agree with you on the "we are what we eat" philosophy and the importance of well-balanced meals. Focusing on protein from vegetables and wild-caught fish sounds like a fantastic approach for overall health.

And you're spot on about the "an apple a day" saying, it's a nice thought, but definitely not a substitute for medical care! It's great that you avoid red meat and processed foods too. I stay away from processed meat as well.

How we dress really does play a part in expressing our personal style and how we present ourselves.

  16. Hola Benita.

  18. I do know eating better helps many areas, there are just so many bad things out there that can be tempting, but if we go right back to healthy eating I think there can be a little bit of balance. exercise keeps us going, if we stop moving we will totally stop living.

  25. Hello Benita,
This post contains important information about how to take care of our well-being. It is very useful. These are small steps that have big results for our physical, mental, and financial health! As I have several chronic illnesses, I cannot exercise or eat healthily, as I suffer from intolerances to many foods, I can only eat what does not harm me! As for our appearance, I think that if we take care of ourselves even before we open our mouths to speak, we are already making a good impression on others. Have a great weekend!
